Help Me Fulfill a DREAM!

I love hearing about people who are reaching for thier highest potential. So, when my nephew approached me about the scholarships available here at Zaadz, I was a little bummed to inform him that the one that I know Zaadz was offering had reached it's admissions close date. BUT, I thought ... of all the other events that I've attended and raised funds for... why not this, too?!

SO! I am asking for all of you to get involved and donate a few dollars to help a young, fifteen year old boy reach his dreams... to fulfill his desires to be the best he can possibly be before he reaches college. The fee to enter this camp is $1500, so that is what I am raising funds to reach.


A Note From Luke:

I was recently informed by my vocal teacher that Oklahoma City University is holding three performing arts camps for young people this summer. The first two are musical theater camps, but the other is classical voice/opera. Opera?! I love opera! But, I've never had any resources to further my interest in it - well, except a video from the New York Metropolitan Opera showing all the favorite opera scenes that I watch frequently. I’d love to be an opera singer one day; I feel that I possess everything except professional training. And, since it will be nearly three years before I enter college as a vocal performance major, I want to take advantage of any professional help that I have offered to me.

I wish to pursue this dream with all my heart, and this is one of the first steps to doing just that. I believe that with enough hard work and determination, I can attain that dream … any dream. To educate myself in the beautiful art of opera would definitely be a dream come true. I’ve always been passionate about music and would love to make a career out of it someday. I feel that I could really do something with music … inspire, empower, or even change lives. This is one area in which I will certainly reach my fullest potential.


UPDATE: 1/24/07

I really am hoping for a turn out of at least $5 or so per person... all it would take would be 300 people to meet the goal with that kind of participation.

I have supported NUMEROUS other Zaadz members by attending events that they host - blogging about them, purchased books that members have written, purchased music that members have created, purchased movies, purchased a LOT of ART in support of members, given away product from my Young Living line as fun promotions (paid shipping all myself) and hosted/attended various other donation events raising money. I am certain that I have spent well over $1500 since the time that I've joined Zaadz... supporting the conscious capitalism intent of this site -- empowering others to live . I am GLAD that I have supported this many members... I feel good about all of this... and now I am asking for a bit of reciprocity. Five dollars is one or two coffee drinks.

We have 51 days left to raise $1385 ... that's like $27 per day... we can do this!!! He is also doing a lot of footwork in his hometown to friends and family to help support this event as well.
